Maclaren Quest Baby Stroller: The Pros

This Maclaren baby pushchair is suitable for 3+ month-old children to toddlers weighing up to 15 kg (3 to 4 years old). It’s a basic pushchair stroller that will suit those with limited storage space.

The hood tilts for added sun protection and has got a UV protective viewing window and can be adjusted. It also has a storage pocket where you can put small things like your purse or house keys. The raincover is zipped onto the hood and goes all the way down underneath the stroller.

The back support reclines in 4 positions, and is easy enough to prop up or down.

The stroller has the usual safety features typical of Maclaren Pushchairs, like a sturdy, aeronautical-quality aluminum frame, 5-point adjustable harness, lockable front swivel wheels, reflective strips for those gloomy British days, ergonomic padded handles, a removable washable seat cover, adjustable leg rest and calf support, mesh shopping basket, and foot brakes that are simple to put on or off.

The umbrella folding mechanism of the stroller is so easy you can do it with one hand. When folded, it’s only 27 x 104 x 32 cm so it’s quite compact. It weighs about 5.5kg without hood, basket or raincover so you can imagine how light it is to push, steer and even carry around or up and and down stairs.

Maclaren Quest Sport: The Cons
The handles of this Maclaren stroller, although not adjustable, are ergonomically optimized and foam insulated.

The Quest Sport, although Sporty looking, is not an all terrain pushchair so if you know you’re going to use it on rougher surfaces like gravel, cobbles and country roads very often, be aware that the Maclaren Quest’s small wheels are not made for that sort of use.

The Maclaren Triumph Baby stroller is the perfect basic all around pushchair – it’s compact, lightweight, easy to use, sturdy, affordable, comfortable, and stylish. Perfect for traveling, commuting, shopping and daily use. It’s definitely one of the best value baby pushchairs around.

Maclaren Triumph Baby stroller: The Pros
The Maclaren Triumph is suitable from 3 months onwards until about 3 years of age. Maclaren Baby Pushchairs have a reputation for being durable – many parents who own it say they’ve had it for years and they are able to use it for their younger kids, too.

The Triumph has two ergonomic, foam encased handle bars. The back of the seat can be easily reclined in 3 positions. It’s very compact when folded so you’ll have no problem storing it in the boot of a medium sized car.

Weighing only 5 kg, the Triumph is one of the lightest buggies around. It’s actually the second smallest Maclaren pushchair (the Volo is the smallest and most basic), but offer slightly more options compared to the Volo. So if you loved everything we said about the Maclaren Volo but would like a baby pushchair with more features then the Triumph is the answer.

The Maclaren Triumph is very easy to fold and unfold with one hand (watch the video demo). Very handy when you’re out and about or when you are in a hurry.

A great thing about the Triumph is that the seat comes off and is machine washable. The hood is easy to clean too – just wipe it off with a wet sponge and you’re good to go. Speaking of the hood, it’s very stylish and super easy to attach and detach from the buggy.

Other Pros worthy to note:

• It’s got a 5 point harness that’s easy to do and undo, but watch your fingers when clipping it in
• Carry strap makes it easy to carry
• Good sized basket underneath
• Rain cover easy to remove and completely cover the child’s feet, too.
• 2 front lockable swivel wheels
• Self-clipping safety catch

Maclaren Triumph Pushchair: The Cons
The leg rest of the Triumph is not adjustable, and neither are the handle bars.

It’s not suitable from birth, and the recommended age for it is from 3 months old but we think it’s really best for babies at least 6 months of age and for toddlers who can sit up properly.

Perhaps the worst disappointment you will have from the Triumph is the brakes. About 3 parents we’ve spoken to about the Triumph is that the brakes are rather hard to engage that sometimes they have to bend down to put it on or off because it’s a lever that goes side to side rather than a pedal you can press with one foot. But you do get used to it after a while

Another minor downside is the storage space. While the storage space is of good size, it can be difficult to get to it when your baby is sleeping or when the seat is set to a reclining position.

Conclusion

The Maclaren Triumph Baby Pushchair is a great nippy little buggy great for daily use and perfect for city dwellers, holiday makers and for any parent who wants a baby pushchair that’s lightweight, inexpensive, super easy to use, and trendy. It may not come with bells and whistles but this Maclaren baby stroller does triumph over many other baby pushchairs out there that cost 3 to 5 times as much!

The Volo is a nippy buggy stroller that handles well on pavements, kerbs, and surprisingly, even on bumpy ground. It’s easy peasy to change direction with it, too.

This buggy stroller is a lightweight stroller so carrying or dragging it up and down stairs is a cinch. It even comes with a carrying strap which makes it even easier to carry. Its small size makes going through doors and riding public transport like a walk in the park.

It’s very easy to fold it even with one hand, and because of its compact size, when it’s folded you can store it almost anywhere and it will fit.

If we are to describe this pushchair in 2 words, it’s gotta be “easy and simple”. Everything about it is easy – it’s easy to fold, unfold, manoeuvre, carry, push, clean, and store away.

The brakes are rather unique compared to most strollers as they are engaged by clicking a lever side to side rather than up and down. This design prevent the brakes from getting easily get caught on stairs so it’s great.

• The sizeable storage basket is a winner. It’s like driving a Mini but with a boot twice the size!

The Maclaren Volo’s back cannot be adjusted in several positions, so it has got only one seat position. You may want to consider well how this may affect your child’s comfort level. As you can see in the pictures, the Volo looks very basic – so much so that some parents may find it “too basic”. So if you’re the type who likes fancy features and elaborate luxuries then the Volo Stroller is not for you.

Conclusion

The Maclaren Volo Buggy Stroller is a fun little performer that’s so easy to steer. It’s remained a favourite pushchair because of it’s a lightweight, compact, basic stroller that’s perfect for a quick nip outside, great for city use, provides ample storage space, and convenient to take with you on a holiday.

The Techno XT is a dream to push and handles itself quite well on most rough surfaces.

The extendable leg rest, padded seat, fully reclinable back support, adjustable padded harness and UV protective hood makes it a luxurious experience for your sleeping baby.

A simple but endearing feature we love about the Maclaren Techno XT is the reflective strips. This buggy just gives a feeling that you’re more visible to motorists especially on darker days so it feels much safer.

The hood is also very much appreciated by parents. It’s quite big to begin with so your darling child really gets a good shelter, and it’s also extendable thus providing an even more generous protection for your child (most useful when they’re sleeping). What’s even more brilliant about it is the pocket and bottle holders at the back to hold essential everyday things like mobile phones, drinks, and house keys.

Maclaren Techno XT: The Cons
Rather difficult to fault, but if we really must complain it does have a slight let down – the storage space. It’s smallish and not easily accessible so you may have to make some compromise when it comes to this aspect.

The handles, although adjustable, seem to be made with tall people in mind. Its lowest setting is actually higher than the average pushchair’s highest setting. So if you’re shorter than 5′5″ you might want to try it out first and see if you find it comfortable enough.
