Hauck Apollo RS is a 2-in-1 Pushchair that comes in a package that includes everything you’ll need from your child’s birth to her toddler years. It’s perfect for parents like me who wants to get the most out of their tight budget.

Hauck Apollo RS: The Pros

The best thing I like about the Apollo RS is that I definitely feel I got so much “bang out of my buck” so to speak. This package includes:

  • Pushchair stroller
  • Soft carrycot with carry handle
  • Changing bag
  • Apron or Footmuff
  • Zipped-on Raincover

This pushchair is suitable from birth to 3 years. I’ve had it for 2 months now, and it’s my first pushchair so I guess I don’t have anything yet to compare it to. However it’s been so good and easy to use – so far!

One of the reasons why it appealed to me (apart from the price and what the package included) was the reversible seat. Being a first time parent, I’m paranoid about everything – whether I’m doing things right or if my baby is alright. So the criteria of having a pushchair that offers parents the option to have their baby facing rearward of forward was high on my list!

The length of the handle bars are adjustable. The documents say it can be adjusted from 99 to 106 cm, which works well for me and hubby because I’m 5′5″ and he’s 5′11″.

The back support of the seat has a 3 position recline, varying from 110 degrees up to 170 degrees. Again this was something I was looking for because I wanted one that is excellent to use for newborns, who need a recline of more than 150 degrees to held develop their spine properly.

There are 4 wheels, the front ones are lockable and swivel 360 degrees. On top of that, the rear wheels have suspension which offer a smoother ride for my little one.

The foot rest are adjustable and you can also remove it too if you want. I presume this is for when your baby gets older.

I wouldn’t say the shopping basket is massive, but it’s suitable enough. I like that it remains accessible even when I have the pushchair in pram mode – that is, when the seat is fully reclined. I know a hard to access shopping basket is a common problem for many pushchairs, so I also wanted one that wouldn’t give me any hassles when I’m trying to get something from the shopping basket whilst I only have one hand free or whilst I have other things going on.

There are many more features that I appreciate like the 5 point harness with shoulder pads to make it more comfy, the hood is detachable, there’s a removable bumper bar, the frame is well built and sturdy, etc.

Hauck Apollo RS: The Cons
I’m perfectly happy with the Apollo RS, but if I really must complain I will say that it’s quite bulky when folded, and weighing 11 kg, it can be heavy as well though this weight is the average for travel systems. I knew this already when I bought it so I can’t really complain.

It’s not an all terrain pushchair so using it heavily on country roads is not advisable however the rear suspension helps a lot to make the ride a smoother one for your baby.

Lastly, I can imagine how people shorter than myself (e.g., 5′4″ and below) may find the handles a bit high or uncomfortable as the handles only go as low as 99 cm.

Conclusion
Yes I would definitely recommend the Apollo RS for parents who want a reliable travel system that comes with all the bells and whistles – but not with the hefty price tag!
